ateliercetrei * FAU * RCI NY
Ten months after attending ICFF New-York in 2022 and meeting Dorian Branea and Luisa Tuntuc, Paul returns to New-York with a group of 6 architecture students. As such The Romanian Cultural Institute of New York opened its doors for Technical University of Cluj-Napoca’s Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, welcoming 6 architecture students and two tutors who setup and opened ‘’RCI under Open Skies” - an exhibition of 25 architecture student projects illustrating 25 possible future outcomes for the outdoor wing of the Institute.
After setting up shop and opening the exhibition the six architecture students had three full days to experience the magic of New York city!
A huge thank you to our friends at the Romanian Cultural Institute of New-York - Dorian Branea and Luisa Tuntuc - for their vision and dedication, to the Technical University of Cluj Napoca for their incredible support and last, but not list, to our own Anamaria who helped make this project a reality!
Paul and Anamaria set the basis for a Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning student project and exhibition in New-York
While attending the 2022 edition of ICFF New-York, Paul and Anamaria met Dorian Branea and Luisa Tuntuc from the Romanian Cultural Institute of New York and set the basis for a very special project titled “RCI under open skies”. With major renovations going on for the past three years, the Institute has strived to reinvent itself as a modern, welcoming, multipurpose cultural centre in the heart of Manhattan. The job is by no means finished and, to make the most of their available space, the need to reimagine the outdoor wing of the Institute in the most ingenious and eco-friendly way arose as an obvious consequence. The project was studied within Interior Architecture and Special project - interior disciplines at Cluj-Napoca’s own school of architecture in the first semester of 2022/23 academic year.
Competitively selected, 25 projects will be presented in the exhibition ‘RCI under Open Skies’ which will be on view at RCI NY’s ‘Brancusi’ Gallery beginning March 2, from 6-8 pm. Moreover this exhibition will be set up and opened by a group of 6 students and 2 tutors that will travel to New York for this purpose.
StratA
StratA was a blast! Paul had the chance to round up the discussions of the three panels: fashion design, photography and interior design and discuss, maybe, one of the issues creatives face most often - the problem of time, money and cost estimation. We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase our work and our philosophy as well as to discuss amongst likeminded and driven people about the issues that concern us the most and the problems that we are facing in our day-to-day operations. A huge thank you to mushuROI and their own Sani Stranszky and Raluca Ciornea for making this event a reality!
Paul to talk about the value of time, money and cost estimation at mushuROI’s stratA
Paul will join an amazing selection of creatives from the fields of photography, fashion design and interior design at mushuROI’s stratA - a conference about business and solutions in creative industries. The event will kick-off on Saturday, December 10th, from 9:30 at mushuROI creative hub with three consecutive panels put together by Raluca Ciornea and moderated by Ciprian Sipos.
ateliercetrei and ampluspm @Maison & Objet Paris
We proudly announce that two of the families of objects we designed for ampluspm - MaNoOtTa and polimasa - will be exhibited at this year’s Maison & Objet in Paris between the 8th and the 12th of September in Hall 6-D124 as part of Romanian Furniture Manufacturers Association delegation at the French trade fair for interior design.
We would hereby like to send our gratitude to the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism as well as to the Romanian Furniture Manufacturers Association for this incredible opportunity.
ateliercetrei and ampluspm @ICFF NY
For this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New-York, ateliercetrei and ampluspm will explore the role of the table in the different, post-pandemic, context of interior design. As such, polimasa will be featured in three different tabletop materials: Romanian black tainted oak, Lilac marble and tempered glass. These materials and their textures will tackle the role of the table in different interior settings such as home and (home)office as well as the different types of relationships amongst the people sharing moments around the table.
Come and meet us at this years’s ICFF between the 15th and the 17th of May at Javits Center, Level 3, Hall 3B, Booth 973.
We would hereby like to send our gratitude to the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism as well as to the Romanian Furniture Manufacturers Association for this incredible opportunity.
