Three weeks ago we joined the war on Coronavirus disease with help from our allies, Lions Club 360 Cluj-Napoca and Asociatia Vedem Just. This week we started working on a second 200 pcs batch as we are very proud that the first batch of our 3d printed & handcrafted face shields reached The Oncological Institute Prof. dr. Ion-Chiricuta as well as The Clinical Hospital of Pneumophysiology Leon Daniello from Cluj-Napoca.

AStA and the students of Cluj-Napoca’s Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning visit ateliercetrei’s new office space
On Thursday, the 31st of October, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from Cluj-Napoca’s School of Architecture into our new office. The event titled ‘from the inside towards the outside’, part of ‘Asociația Studenților Arhitecți’ (AStA)’s ‘Conexiuni’ series, revolved around our almost one year journey to get [in]to a space we can finally call our own. Shouts to AStA for the opportunity and to Andrada Hanca for the cool flicks!

ateliercetrei featured in Arhitectura 1906 latest issue ‘BNA 2018, 600 for the future’
In the latest issue of Arhitectura 1906, titled ‘BNA 2018, 600 pentru viitor’ (Ro) / ‘BNA 2018, 600 for the future’ (En), a number of entirely respectable and well-established architects each recommend young promising architects and/or architectural practices. We are both humbled and honored to be recommended by our dear friend and mentor Șerban Țigănaș, presently, amongst others, Secretary-General of The International Union of Architects (UIA). We are hard at work trying to live up to his expectations and building ‘brick by brick’ the beginnings of what we like to think would be our legacy.
New HQ for ateliercetrei
After three years of renting an office space in Georges Cristinel’s 18th Avram Iancu st. gorgeous ‘house with peacocks’ in Cluj-Napoca as well as in a temporary office on a 2nd location, we have found a home of our own in a 1930s provincial Secession building on 15th Albert Einstein st. We’ve been hard at work for the last year trying to adapt the space to our needs while at the same time preserving and recuperating much of its essence. The result is an identitary space formed by a succession of rooms with specific functions, unified by the black stained hardwood floor, bordered by white walls outlined by the exposed wiring and cork and marble paneling, connected by the original or remade carpentry and suspended luminaries adapted to the destination, scale and furnishings of each room. The eclectic selection of furniture pieces, comprising inherited pieces, ateliercetrei creations and iconic pieces enforce the main idea of the project: a house that constantly reminds us where we come from, who we are and what our aspirations are.
Anamaria and Paul to discuss design @Design a la Cluj!
The correct way to translate ‘Dreptul la replica?’ (Ro) would be ‘The right of rebuttal?’ (Eng)... However, the meaning of what we intend to discuss is quite different. If you want to find out please join us on the 24th of April from 7 PM at Cluj Hub for another edition of ‘Design a la Cluj’. Our friends from Salon B will be there to support the discussion with irrefutable design evidence! Be there or be square!!!
